Description

A hearty and flavorful chili made with ground beef or turkey and a variety of beans and spices.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans (14 oz each) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 23 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Dice the onion and bell pepper; mince the garlic.
  2. In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef or turkey for about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic; sauté until softened (about 5 minutes).
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce; add beef broth.
  5. Incorporate kidney beans and pinto beans; season with chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper.
  6. Simmer on low heat for at least 30 minutes to develop flavors.
  7. Adjust seasoning as needed; serve hot with optional toppings.
