A hearty and flavorful chili made with ground beef or turkey and a variety of beans and spices.

- 2 lbs ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cans (14 oz each) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 cans (15 oz each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
- 2–3 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Dice the onion and bell pepper; mince the garlic.
- In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef or turkey for about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic; sauté until softened (about 5 minutes).
- Stir in the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce; add beef broth.
- Incorporate kidney beans and pinto beans; season with chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper.
- Simmer on low heat for at least 30 minutes to develop flavors.
- Adjust seasoning as needed; serve hot with optional toppings.
