- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 meat-to-fat ratio)
- 1 tsp monosodium glutamate (MSG)
- 4 soft burger buns
- 4 slices American cheese
- Lettuce, tomato, pickles (as desired)
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef with MSG until well combined.
- Divide the beef into four equal portions and shape them into loose balls.
- Place each ball on the hot surface and smash down with a spatula to form patties.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until browned; flip and add cheese on top.
- Cover for 1 minute until the cheese melts completely.
- Assemble burgers with preferred toppings and serve immediately.
Notes
- Feel free to add extra toppings such as grilled onions or bacon.
- Make sure not to overcook the burgers for a juicy result.
