Description

Delicious chocolate chip cookies with a delightful crunch from saltine crackers.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 20 saltine crackers
  • 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Sea salt, for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar in a large bowl.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and baking soda.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Stir in the saltine crackers and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  8. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of each cookie, if desired.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • For a more chocolatey flavor, add additional chocolate chips.
